Henry Bright

Henry Bright (c. 370 KG - 325 KG) was an human Braydonian explorer who is known to have lead the  team that accidently discovered Saltha in an expedition over the mountains that divide the Republic of Braydon and the then Kingdom of Saltha.

The Expidetion

The expifeition, charged with exploring the mountain range, and to to explore as far as 1,000 miles westword by the Braydonian goverment, in order to learn of any untapped resources available to them.  Explorer and geologist Henry Bright was chosen to lead the party. He chose a team of twenty men.

The party reached the mountain in good time, but shortly after begining the ascent, the party's fortune turned. The terrain of the mountain was much haarder to climb than anticipated at the base camp. One of the climbers fell to his death. Then a pack harness holding a pack of supplies fell, destroying it. By the time the party reached the other side, two more of the party members died from hypothermia.

This bad fortune did not end in with the mountain. On the other side was a vast desert. The party lost their way in a large sand storm once, and four of the party members died of heat stroke, exhaustion and malnutrition.

Henry Bright's team finally arrived the city of Ten Terak, on the eastern border of Saltha On Udgirela 5th, 346  KG, twenty seven days after they set out. At first Bright thought it was an previously unencounted human settlement, but was shocked to discover that it was in fact a new sentient species unknown to humans. Likewise, before Bright arrived, Salthans did not know of the existance of humans, or any sentient race besides themselves.
