Mythology Stories

Story of creation of Salthans and how they got free will.

Before the world began, and there was nothing, Santh created the world. He filled it with all manner of animals, to fly in the sky, to swim in the seas and crawl in the lands. He also created all mannwer of plants over the land and under the seas. Then he wanted to create beings that were able to worship him , and care for the plants and animals.

At that time the divines were at constant war with each other, bickering and even violent fighting (though even the divines could not kill each other or do lasting harm). So Santh created the first people.

So when Santh created the first people in the form of himself, bnth a male and female, he called the divines together and asked them to give them gifts.

Kakela stepped forward. "I shall give them a hard skin to bear against the hot sun, and endure the physical strain".

Rela came next "I will give them a fire that will burn in their hearts that will give them the strength to work the soil in their arms."

Lykei said "I will give them a flowing breath, that will fill them with joys, and laugh, and sorrows too.", and she breathed into the man and woman's mouth.

Then Kai said "I will give him knowledge, and the abillity to think and reason."

Gikar was last. "I shall give them fruitfulness in their loins to bear children, and experience sexual pleasure"

But then Hasashui appeared. She was angry because she wasn't invited. "All these gifts are good, but I will give him the best gift of all!" Santh was intregued by this boast. "What can you give, trickster, that is better than that of life, banished daughter?" he asked. Hasashua smiled, and presented a bottle of wine made from Santh's vineyards that Hasashua had stolen. Before any could stop him, he poured a drop down the throat of the newly made male. "I give free will." he said. "the very best of all. Now they shall know how to choose, whether to honor God and the divines, or to disobey, to do good or evil. The divines tried to stop her, but it was too late. Rela seized her and Santh ordered her to be punished. So Rela flogged her with his whip of fire and banished her once again from the palace of the God, blocking the way she had snuck in.

Lykei's adoption of humans

Summery

Lykei adopts two mortal brothers; Ulushuhasa and  Giloshkei. It was forbidden to do so, but she kept them hidden, but she went to Kai to help her. Together Lykei and Kai raised two children, Lykei the spoiling parent, and Kai the strict disciplinarian.
