Summery of the History

Lykesanai Period (447-329 KG)

The first king of Saltha, Sada (447-370 KG), of the lykesanai tribe was chosen by the people of Saltha and crowned in 420 KG, unifying the three tribes into one single people. For the most part he was a just king, though later in his rule he did allow some minor  abuses of his power. He ruled for 50 years, dying at the age of 77.

Saska (401-340 NG), his son became king in 370 NG He was a good king and feared Santh and ruled justly.

In the year 340 KG Gisal I (363-351 KG) became king. He attempted to kill many of those belonging to the Kes tribe. Many were killed before he was assasinated. All of his sons too died either of strange accidents or assassination, which caused to beleive in the curse on his family.

Shashesanai Period (351-68 KG)

Shi the Shashesanai (351-296 KG), the third son (Shi means "three" or "third") of a wealthy merchant was chosen by the people. and he was a fairly just king, and united the country again as one people. He ruled from 329 to 296 KG, which was a time of peace.

His son, Shi II (321-299  KG) came to power in the year 296 KG. He was angered by the evil of Gisal, and demanded that the Lykesan people pay for what the pain of his people. He foolishly blamed all Lykesan as if they all approved of the actions of the people, and in turn did the evil of Gisal that he hated. He ruled until 299 KG.

Rel (299-269 NG), ruled in the year 299 KG, causing for the first time in history the great priest and king to be a single person.  He said "Why is it that there are those who dare to not beleive?", He forced those who do not believe in Santh to confess his name under torture, He ruled until 269 KG when he died, having ruling for 30 years. The next chief priests of Santh has declared Rel's actions to be agsinst the teachings of the religion, which teachers that while the religion of Santh is true it should never be forced. The next king Lail made it a law that affirmed the already existing law that even existed at the time of Rel that was ignored that no one shall be forced by the goverment to belong to any religion.

King Lail (257-161 KG), also known as Gisallail (Lail the good) who is considered to be the greatest of the Santh kings. He began his rule at the age of 12, the youngest of any king before or after him. He built many public parks and bathhouses, as well as fountains on the road to combat sun stroke in children. He also commissioned the temple in Santh in Ten Terak. In the year 217 KG he moved the capital to the move central city of Karathe. He ruled wisely for 84 years and went to be with Santh and his fathers at the age of 96.

Lail II (203-112 KG), Lail's son was nothing like his father, and was a selfish king, he lived until he was 91, ruling for 49 years.

Rasha (138-103 KG) was a tyrant like his father. He ruled nine years. In one of the wars against the outlaw tribes of the south, he was assasinated by an arrow at the age of 29.

In 103 KG Rasha's eldest son by his second wife, Lail III (120-78 KG) came to rule. His mother named him Lail III, because she hoped the name would inspire him to be a ruler of peace. When he came to power, he changed his name to Gikana (which means "strong") and was also a tyrant like his father and grandfather before him. He said "I am strong, and shall not fall at a young age like my father." He was struck dead the twenty-fifth year of his reign from a heart problem.

Gial II (98-68 NG), Rasha's third son next came to power. It is believed he murdered his older brothers in order to be first in line to rule.

Kakel Period (68-1 KG)

King kakel (92-1 KG), a nobleman of Gial II's court, since Gial II had no heirs next came in to power in the year 68 KG, and he did not even make the starting pretenses of justice. He took what  tax money he could, raising taxes the highest it had ever been since the reign of [??]. In [Yearwarstart] He declared war on
Braydon, allying with the human nation of Trahern. It was a war that took the citizens by surprised. Salthan up to that time had been very  isolationist. There was no real justification given for entering the war. No historian knows even today what reason the king declared war, what even the king could think he was gaining, but most put it on the deteriorating sanity of the king.

In the times of the kings (447-1 KG)There was a highly  divided class system, consisting of (1) the king, (2) nobles (both hereditary and those who could afford to buy a noble title), (3) The Soldier Commanders, (4), Craftsmen, traders and common soldiers, (5) free citizens and finally (6) slaves (of debt or to the state for crimes).

There was some movement amongst the lower levels. There was very little restriction to one enlisting and becoming a soldier (as long as one was wiling to endure the hard life that goes along with it).
